Dr. Oscar Rodríguez-Espíndola joined the Aston CRISIS Centre on September 2012 as a research student, participating as graduate teaching assistant at the Operations & Information Management research group. He is a Mechanical Engineer with an MSc on Transportation Engineering and he was a research assistant for two years in the SEMARNAT-CONACyT project: “Economical assessment of socioeconomic and demographic vulnerability in floods in Mexico” at the Engineering Faculty of the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico. 

He holds a PhD from Aston University and he is a lecturer in Operations and Supply Chain Management at Aston University. He has participated in different conferences and published in disaster-related journals such as Natural Hazards and Geosciences. His current research is focused on supply chain management in floods using optimisation and geographical information systems and his research interests include emergency logistics, supply chain management and operations research.
